TREVOR MORAN
Trevor Moran is a member of the popular O2L YouTube channel. He is born on September 30, 1998; and is an American recording artist and a famous YouTuber.
Trevor Moran was born in Poway, California in 1998. Moran first joined YouTube in 2007 at only age 8. Since he loved dancing, singing and Apple devices, he came up with an idea to upload a video of him doing an Apple Store Dance. He began uploading videos of himself dancing to popular songs at the Apple Store. “There were so many people and I was like, ‘Let’s see what I can do to embarrass myself,’ and that’s pretty much what I did,” laughed Moran. “I danced around.” The video sparked a string of imitators shaking their butts in Apple stores all over the country. “I basically did the Apple store tour,” he said.
Fame/YouTube life/Singing Career
Trevor is the youngest member of O2L as he is turning 16 this September. Moran met fellow YouTube stars Connor Franta, Ricky Dillon, Sam Pottorff, J.C. Caylen and Kian Lawley in 2012 at VidCon, and the six of them became fast friends and decided to form a team. In August 2012, he joined a collaboration YouTube channel known as Our2ndLife. They alternate posting videos on YouTube based on the day of the week. “Friday is my day — I can’t do anything on Friday,” said Moran. “The six of us think up the theme together, but my mom and I will brainstorm in the car. My mom is definitely a big help to me, always.” Themes include pranks or skips like Annoying Things Parents Do.
Though Moran received plenty of page views for his funny, over-the-top videos, his star really began to shine after he impressed judges on “The X-Factor”. In 2012, Moran auditioned for The X Factor, by performing LMFAO's "Sexy and I Know It". Moran received four votes from the judges and got through to boot camp, but was later eliminated there, in boot camp. During his audition, he said his appearances belied his true feelings. “I was so nervous,” he said. “I’ve never been nervous before so I was like what is this feeling?” Trevor even passed out after drinking a 5-Hour Energy beverage on an empty stomach — right before his audition.
He was then chosen to be part of the live auditions held in San Francisco. From then on, he has started to develop a singing career and in early September, Trevor Moran released his debut single entitled "Someone". The song debuted on Ryan Seacrest’s website.
Moran said after his “X-Factor” experience last year, he knew he wanted to dive into performing professionally. Since then, he’s been traveling around the country to sing at pop concerts — all while attending school. On Sunday, he performed in New York City alongside pop stars IM5 and Coco Jones.
Though touring is tiring, Trevor said it’s the most exciting part of his job — that, and meeting his celebrity crush, Miley Cyrus. “I saw her backstage at the I Heart Radio music festival and I was like, ‘Hi! Do you want to stick your tongue out for a picture?’” he said.
In early December 2013, Trevor Moran released another single, entitled "The Dark Side" with much success, entered the Dance/Electronic Digital Songs Billboard chart at #25.
Though Moran spends a lot of time on his funny videos with his buddies, his real passion is music and singing. He described the moment his single debuted on iTunes. “That whole night, I watched it go up on the charts,” he said. “I didn’t go to sleep. I had so much homework that morning but I was still like, I have to check the charts.” Moran said he hopes to be like his idols Lady Gaga or Justin Timberlake one day.
CHILDHOOD
Trevor grew up as an obese child and was very loud so he obtained the nickname, Stereo. When Trevor Moran first started YouTube, he spent a lot of his time filming and putting effort into many YouTube videos, but unfortunately got no views on any of them.
He took up Karate and got up to a black belt but then left it after a while. He also played the piano and has obtained severe asthma problems.
